Welcome to Valley Children's Pediatric Residency Program

From the tiniest patients to the biggest miracles, Valley Children’s is proud to serve the children of California’s Central Valley. As a part of our Pediatric Residency team, you’ll learn and practice in one of the nation’s largest, most diverse children’s hospitals. Our mission is to train compassionate physician leaders and scholars to serve generations of Valley children to come.
"The goal of our residency program is to ensure that you have the tools, skills and experience to be an exemplary and successful pediatrician. We look forward to meeting you and hope you will join us in our mission to improve the health and well-being of children."
Vini Vijayan, MD, FAAP, FIDSA, Valley Children's Pediatric Residency Program Director

Diversity and Advocacy
Throughout the Valley’s vast footprint, hardships and inequalities threaten the health and future of our children: food insecurity, poverty, air pollution and exposure to adverse childhood events. Valley Children’s is uniquely positioned to address many of these challenges and to help ensure a positive future for our region’s children.
