    Endowments Provide Lasting Impact

    Since its first million-dollar endowment was established in 2007, the Guilds have established five endowments totaling $14 million in funding for key programs and services at Valley Children’s Hospital.

    Supporting Childhood Cancer Survivors

    Donors help childhood cancer survivors strive for their college dreams with a $1,000 scholarship. Scholarships are awarded each year to help cancer survivors thrive in college and beyond.

    Giving the Gift of Time

    Volunteers are at the heart of the patient experience. More than 230 volunteers and 9 canine teams donate approximately 2,100 hours a month to enhance the healing process.

    Inspiration in Action

    Funded by the generosity of our community, Valley Children's Adaptive Sports Program provides free athletic and recreational experiences for children with physical disabilities and mobility impairments.

    Strength in Spirit

    Donors help our Spiritual Care Services team of chaplains and volunteers provide compassionate spiritual, religious and emotional support.

    Prescription for Play

    Our Child Life team helps kids understand and cope with hospitalization. Donors support this vital work by helping our team fund toys and educational tools to use play to provide healing and get kids back to being kids.

    How apheresis treatment reduces Demetrius's complications and hospital stays

    Demetrius experienced many ups and downs throughout his care journey, including numerous hospital stays as a result of sickle cell crisis episodes – a common occurrence for SCD patients. With his SCD now under control, Demetrius can focus on his future, and work on achieving his goal of becoming a pastor, and help other people live their lives to the fullest.

    Luke inspires others by overcoming adversity and giving back

    In 2023, 10-year-old Luke was injured playing football at his school in Los Banos. His parents brought him to Valley Children’s just in time, as Luke had punctured his small intestine and soon became septic. Luke had emergency surgery and was in the Valley Children’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) for a week and was then transferred to the Rehab unit, where he stayed for one month. His mom tells everyone, "PICU saved Luke's life. Rehab brought Luke back to life."

Holiday Guild opened The Holiday Boutique retail store west Fresno in 1953, and its members staff and operate the shop. The Boutique features a variety of home decor, personal gifts, tableware, and jewelry, along with an extensive baby department.
