About Me

Board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Linda Chan is part of the maternal-fetal medicine team at Valley Children's Specialty Medical Group.

Dr. Chan is certified as a diplomat for the National Board of Medical Examiners. Prior to her current role, Dr. Chan was a commander in the Medical Corps of the United States Navy for nearly a decade until she retired in 2018. She has been awarded several medals throughout her military career. Twice she earned the Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal, first for her performance in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Arabian Sea, on board of the USS Peleliu and second for her leadership with the Fetal Neonatal Multidisciplinary Group at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego. She also received multiple Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and Meritorious Service Medals.

Dr. Chan was also a professor, researcher and clinician of informatics. She has founded and served as a course director for both the Fetal-Neonatal Multidisciplinary Conference and the Annual Women’s Health Synopsis at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego.

Dr. Chan has presented her research and has been published in a variety of peer-reviewed publications including, the American Journal of Perinatology, Frontiers in Medicine and the Medical Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Currently she serves as a reviewer of three different peer-reviewed journals: Journal of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Chan received her medical degree at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, New York. Dr. Chan spent her residency at the Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, New York, and shortly after, completed a fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Magee-Women’s Hospital at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Pennsylvania.
