About Me

Board certified in pediatric cardiology, Dr. Miguel Restrepo joined Valley Children’s Specialty Medical Group as a pediatric cardiologist in August 2014. He has a special interest in cardiac imaging, particularly fetal echocardiography.

Prior to his current role, Dr. Restrepo’s worked as a pediatrician in Reedley and Dinuba, Calif., for seven years. He received the “Top 10 Pediatricians in Fresno” award in 2007 and 2011 from Santé Community Physicians.

Dr. Restrepo has completed a number of research projects in his field and has presented his work across the country. He has published in various peer-reviewed publications, including Gene Therapy-Nature, Annals of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiology in the Young.

Dr. Restrepo is a member of several professional organizations, such as the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Medical Association, American Society of Echocardiography, Society of Pediatric Research, and American College of Cardiology.

Dr. Restrepo received his medical degree from Universidad de Antioquia in Medellin, Colombia. He completed his pediatric internship and residency at Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. He did his fellowship in pediatric cardiology at the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital in Iowa City.

In his free time, he enjoys salsa dancing, listening to tango music, reading Colombian and Latin American history and literature, spending time with his two children and working out with his wife.
